The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at Sri Krishna College of Engineering (SKCE) is one of the most dynamic and innovative departments of the institution. About the Course

The B.E. Electronics and Communication Engineering program is structured to provide a solid foundation in electronics, signal processing, digital communication, VLSI design, embedded systems, and networking. The course emphasizes both hardware and software skills, equipping students to adapt to rapidly evolving technologies. Graduates are trained to work in diverse fields such as telecommunication, embedded systems, robotics, automation, IT, and research.

About the Curriculum

The curriculum follows Anna University guidelines and AICTE standards, blending core engineering with specialization subjects. Key components include:

  • Core subjects : Digital Electronics, Signals and Systems, Communication Engineering, Microprocessors, Control Systems, VLSI, Antenna & Wave Propagation, Optical Communication, Wireless Networks.
  • Laboratory practice : Digital Signal Processing Lab, VLSI Lab, Embedded Systems Lab, Communication Systems Lab, Microprocessor & Microcontroller Lab.
  • Industry focus : Mini-projects, major projects, industrial training, and internships.
  • Skill-based learning : MATLAB, LabVIEW, Embedded C, IoT kits, and advanced simulation tools.

  • Digital & Microprocessor Lab - Design and programming of digital systems and microcontrollers.
  • Communication Systems Lab - Experiments on analog and digital communication techniques.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must have completed 10+2 / HSC with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects.
  • Admissions are through Anna University counseling (TNEA) based on merit or as per Tamil Nadu Government norms.
  • Diploma holders in Electronics-related streams are eligible for lateral entry into the second year.
