About the Course
The B.E. Civil Engineering program equips students with knowledge of structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, transportation, water resources, environmental engineering, and construction management. The course emphasizes both theoretical foundations and practical training, ensuring that graduates are capable of designing and executing projects that meet safety, sustainability, and quality standards.
About the Curriculum
The curriculum is aligned with Anna University and AICTE standards, and integrates fundamental knowledge with advanced applications. It includes:
- Core subjects : Engineering Mechanics, Surveying, Structural Analysis, Concrete Technology, Design of Reinforced Concrete & Steel Structures, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Supply & Wastewater Engineering, Transportation Engineering.
- Laboratory practice : Surveying Lab, Structural Engineering Lab, Geotechnical Lab, Environmental Lab, CAD Lab.
- Practical exposure : Industrial visits, live projects, and internships with construction companies and government departments.
- Skill development : Training in AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, REVIT, Primavera, and advanced surveying instruments.

About the Laboratory
The Civil Engineering department is equipped with specialized laboratories for hands-on learning and research:
- Surveying Lab – Advanced instruments like total stations and GPS for fieldwork.
- Concrete & Materials Lab – Testing of cement, aggregates, and concrete strength.
- Structural Engineering Lab – Experiments on structural behavior and load testing.
- Geotechnical Lab – Soil testing, foundation analysis, and earthwork studies.
- Environmental Engineering Lab – Water and wastewater quality analysis.

Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have passed 10+2 / HSC with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
- Admission is through Anna University counseling (TNEA) or as per Tamil Nadu Government norms.
- Lateral entry is available for Diploma holders in Civil/Construction-related streams.
